Build your own arcade controller

Don't think that you can spare a computer or the space to build you own
Arcade@Home cabinet? Well then, just build the
Arcade@Home Controller. It features:
- All controls are arcade quality
- (2) leaf switch 8-way joysticks (programmable to any key)
- (16) microswitch buttons (programmable to any key)
- Real arcade 2-1/4" trackball (with 3 buttons)
- HUGE! (about 30" x 10") (won't move around)
- Uses the following ports (note that it does not use the joystick port)
- Keyboard port: Used for (16) buttons and (2) joysticks (with passthrough)
- 1st Serial port: Used for the trackball (used as mouse)
- 2nd Serial port: Used for programming the buttons & joysticks
- Also requires a standard 110v outlet
How much will it cost to build one? About $350 in parts if you build
it as shown. You can obviously save a lot if you exclude the trackball.
Before you start construction, realize that there are arcade control
panels that you can purchase pre-assembled:
