[pec] Plugin Updated
This great cheating tool for the PSX Emulators ,[pec], has been udpated today..Here's what's the author saids:
  • Seems like there are some bugs in the [pec] release of yesterday.
  • One of them is, that the setup has overwritten the codelist.inf with the user.inf, on the first-time installation. So the only item in the codelist.inf was Tekken 3, and the user.inf was missing.
  • This bug is fixed now, the new setup can be downloaded from the download page.
  • There seems to be also a bug in the interface, I've mailed daNIL already about this problem, and this will be fixed hopefully soon too.

NeoPop v0.51 Released
This emulator currently wins as the most frequently updated emulator on Earth. This release of this Neo-Geo Pocket Color adds the following:
  • This version only fixes a few little problems with yesterdays release. It was impossible to proceed to the next level in "Bust-a-Move" because the flash memory write was incorrect.
  • I've added back the performance percentage meter due to popular demand!
  • Most of the changes have been to the source code. I've found time to make a big clean up of the Windows sections, which were the worst (although the debugger still remains pretty messy, it's been totally isolated). This version of the code should be much easier to port to other systems.

Note that you'll need a lot of RAM to hold all games in memory at the same time. To switch from game to game, use the button mapped as Button 5 in the input options (default key 0)The current bios supports 4 game slots. The default bios config only allows to switch games after inserting a coin. To change it, press F2, go to "set the soft dips", then "setting the cabinet", and change "Game selection" to "Free".Using savestates with multislot games may have unpredictable results. ALWAYS LOAD IN THE 1ST SLOT FIRST.

    NeoPop v0.43 Released
The Neo-Geo Pocket Color emulator NeoPop was updated to v0.43. Here's what you get new in this release:
    • Sound quality is now as good as it gets! I've implemented a buffered output after seeing how it was supposed to be done by Pete Bernert and the PeopsSpu team. This approach has made a tremendous improvement.
    • Sample playing is still missing, so you'll have to wait for the 'Sega' at the start of "Sonic Pocket Adventure" and the intro to "Faseli!" too.
    • No core fixes today. Same old bugs!
    • Joystick button names are now used instead of numbers in the config dialog box, this should be more user friendly (and was easier for me than having to re-write the dialog to support any alternative methods). Thanks to Nick K for pointing out that numbers weren't actually helpful!
    • Added a call to yield the CPU when paused, this will hopefully free up wasted system resources. Thanks to JAZ for the suggestion. I've still to add an auto pause option when the emulator looses focus...
    • There are still some sound glitches. I have noticed that sometimes the sound begins to break up. This can be fixed by moving the window around to reinitialise the buffer. Not ideal, but I've not been able to detect where the problem is being generated. I suspect that the breakups are caused by my slow program causing gaps...
    • Optimised both builds by 10%, I still need to do more to match the performance of MGPocket and fix the remaining sound problems.
Download it from the Console Emulators section.

    AdvanceMAME V0.61.0 Released
AdvanceMAME ,a GNU/Linux and DOS port of the MAME, MESS and PacMAME emulators for Arcade Monitors and TVs but also for normal PC Monitors, has been updated today!! Here's whats new :
    • Removed the input_analog and input_track options. They are now substituted by the new input_map option.
    • Upgraded at the SVGALIB 1.9.15 library.
    • Added the `vertical' and `horizontal' sections on the config file. With these sections you can have different configuration for vertical and horizontal games. If you have a rotating monitor, you can now always configure the correct orientation.
    • The `display_rotate auto' option now selects always the `blit' rotation. The reason of this change is that the `core' rotation will be completly removed on the next MAME version (0.62). On monoprocessor machines this may result in a sensible slowdown on some games. Instead, on SMP(multiprocessor) machines all these games are now faster because the rotation is done in the parallel blit thread.
    • Fixed the joystick problem with more than 8 buttons.
    • Added the `display_intensity' option.
    • Added the `display_artwork_crop' option.
    • Fixed the `display_expand' option for the vertical vector games.
    • Prevented the use on the NT platform.
    • Added some new MMX blitters to speedup the blit rotation.
    • In the Linux version if the HOME environment variable is not set all the files are read and written on the PREFIX/share/advance directory.
    • Fixed a bug when forcing the use of the vbeline/3dfx driver.
    • Enabled the interlaced modes with the 3dfx svgalib driver.
    • Minor bugfix.

    News System Update
Many have probably noticed the increase in news here at Arcade@Home over the last few days as well as different people are now posting news. After doing 100% of the news for the last 4 1/2 years I figured it was time to allow others to assist. I've been considering it for years, but never really had the need to do it. However, in a few months I'll be going on a vacation that will take me out of an internet connection for the first time since the www was invented. Therefore, I had to do something fairly quick.

Over the last 8 months I've been building and promoting the Arcade@Home forums and it's now one of the most popular (if not the most popular) emulation forum on the internet. With this came some unique features to the Arcade@Home forums like the attack system which has really snowballed. I figured using the forums as a location for moderators to post news made the most sense so now the front page news is driven from the Arcade@Home forums and any forum moderator can post news to the front page. This also allows anyone to post comments and replies to these news topics. It was just fully turned on today so there still could be some problems so bear with us.

Anyway, I hope everyone enjoys the enhancements and if you haven't tried out the Arcade@Home forum, you should. You don't need to be emulation politically correct and people basically just have a good time. Also, the attack system allows people to really have some fun with each other (allows you to take out your frustrations with people =) Check it out at the above link.

    Nebula v2.18a Re-Released
The CPS2, Neogeo, PGM and Konami emulator Nebula v2.18a was re-released locking out all the newer games that were left unlocked previously. Here's what's new:
      NEOGEO
      • Fixed mslug3nd driver crashing nebula.
      • Fixed kof99d driver. now it loads the decrypted C roms instead of the prototype roms.
      GENERAL
      • I've had to change the locking policy again. I've been contacted about the legal problems that having those games enabled could have, so I had to definitely lock them again and they will remain locked till those games are 1 year old. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this have caused, and encourage all emulation sites that have the 2.18a package that overwrite it with this. I hope you understand that I don't like to be involved in legal problems and that I don't like to see nebula discontinued.
