MAME WIP Page Updated
The MAME page has been update with the following progresses
  • 2002-11-23: David Haywood added preliminary sprite support to the Sega System 32 driver, making Holosseum fully playable. Bryan McPhail fixed a bug when switching between 68020 and 68000 in the debugger. Stefan Jokisch added support for the artwork LEDs in the Turbo / Subroc-3D / Buck Rogers driver. smf fixed the path handling also in the DOS version. Paul Priest added per-row/column blending support to the Psikyo SH-2 drivers.
  • 2002-11-22: Aaron Giles added Sharpshooter to the Police Trainer driver, fixed the security failure in Revolution X, added Cruis'n World version 2.0 to the Williams V-unit driver, cleaned up the Windows file I/O and path handling and fixed a palette management bug that affected Area 51.
  • 2002-11-21: Zsolt Vasvari added Mighty Monkey to the Scramble driver. Chris Kirmse fixed the ROM loading message displays for ports that include a GUI. Aaron Giles changed the file I/O to happen mostly in the core instead of the OS dependant part, and he modified the routines to automatically generate the snap, cfg, nvram etc. paths if they are missing.
  • 2002-11-20: Aaron Giles improved the MD5 verification fix. Uki wrote a driver for Dr. Micro. Paul Priest separated Psikyo PS4 hardware emulation to its own driver since it didn't have much in common with the PS3, PS5 and PS5v2 hardware configurations. Paul Priest also merged the graphics emulation for Nostradamus and Magical Cat Adventure.
  • 2002-11-19: Yasuhiro Ogawa forwarded Norix's fixes for Metal Hawk sprites. smf updated his GCC 3.2 install instructions. Shiriru's updates containing fixed sprite masking in the CPS-2 driver and fixed sprite delay in Battle Bakraid were also forwarded. Stephane Humbert fixed inputs in Mechanized Attack and added a clone called Caterpillar to the Centipede driver.
  • 2002-11-18: Aaron Giles sent in an alternate fix for the false-positive MD5 checksums and improved the hdcomp tool. Guru added the Korean version of Nostradamus. Olivier Galibert ported tilemap naming and pause brightness updates to 0.62. Nathan Woods added state save support for the TMS34010 CPU core. Jarek Burczynski sent in a massively improved YM2413 sound chip emulation. Rene Single fixed the bug in datafile routines that caused some missing information. Quench sent in a TMS32025 CPU core and a preliminary Taito AIR system driver, but graphics emulation is not complete so it does not work very well. MooglyGuy submitted a preliminary driver for Tugboat, it works somewhat but colors are wrong, scrolling doesn't work and the inputs aren't hooked up.
  • 2002-11-17: Stefan Jokisch added support for sound samples in Subroc-3D. Olivier Galibert fixed the palette regeneration when reloading a saved state. Zsolt Vasvari and Nicola Salmoria added the correct color PROMs to Formation Z / Aeroboto. Zsolt Vasvari also added yet another Mr. Kougar ROM set to the Scramble driver.
  • 2002-11-16: Stephane Humbert and David Haywood re-submitted some drivers and fixes that were omitted from 0.62. smf did a GCC 3.2 compiler package for DOS. Andrea Mazzoleni fixed -listinfo with MD5 checksums. Nicola Salmoria added preliminary sound CPU communication to the Macross Plus driver, but sound doesn't work yet due to an unemulated IRQ feature in the ES5506 sound core. S. Suzuki fixed priority problems in Darwin 4078. MooglyGuy wrote a driver for Super Triv II and merged it with the Status Trivia II driver.
  • 2002-11-15: Nicola Salmoria fixed the colors in Speed Spin. David Haywood sent in a newer Pirates driver, adding the tilemap layer but it is still not perfect since sprites and samples are encrypted. Aaron Giles put together a compiler package with MinGW 2.0 (GCC 3.2) to be used with MAME. Nicola Salmoria also did some related cleanups.
  • 2002-11-14: HIGHWAYMAN added another version of Mr. Kougar to the Scramble driver. R. Belmont added inputs and sound emulation to the Sega System 32 driver, but it's still missing graphics emulation. smf fixed some compile problems that happened with GCC 3.2. Stephane Humbert re-added a small fix to the cheat engine. Tomasz Slanina added graphics zooming to the Flower driver.
  • 2002-11-13: Aaron Giles prevented hard disk images being stored in ZIP files, and cleaned up various things in the source. An anonymous contributor partially decrypted Moon Shuttle, but only the attract mode works and the graphics emulation is not complete. Stephane Humbert fixed the inputs and DIP switches in Fancy World and in the Neo Geo driver. Nathan Woods re-submitted some old fixes and improved a few MESS-specific things.

Atari 800Win Plus V3.1 Released
The Atari-8bit emulator has updated with lots of new features and not to mention online support via Kailera, Here's the following changes
    Added:
    • Play your favourite Atari game across network! Select Input/Network game to join or create a game. The first player (game creator) has an exclusive control over the keyboard. • There is the possibility to set a different screen refresh frequency for full speed mode (see the Performance Options dialog box).
    • Scroll Lock key may be used for turning the "keysticks" off and on.
    • The name of attached disk image is displayed on the status bar after using File/Turn disk (Alt+N) (thanks to Piotr Fusik for the idea).
    • Trainer settings ("unlimited lives") may be saved to and restored from a file (see the Cheat Options window). Thanks to Michal Garbaciak for the idea.

  • The code for finding the best X11 visual now checks in descending order of bit depth. This is to work around a bug/feature in the latest NVidia drivers. (Gerd Sussner)
  • Fixed a problem in the DGA2 driver that could lead to scrambled colors with an i830MG video card in 24bpp mode. (Eric Brunet, Shyouzou Sugitani)
  • The SDL target's -listmodes switch now operates before attempting to load a game. (Shadow Walker)
  • If xmame is iconified in IRIX, it will automatically pause ("boss hanging around mode"). (Andrea Suatoni)
  • Added a switch to force yv12 mode in the Xv driver; made improvements to the yv12 code. (Eric Brunet)
  • Xmame should now build "out of the box" for FreeBSD. Note that for the SDL target, you may have to set the SDL_CONFIG flag in the makefile. (Stijn Hoop)

Snes9X V1.39a Released
Another SNES emulator has yet updated with big changes..Here's the following:
  • Added Kode54's BRR decoder fix and SPC dumping protocols. (Kode54) (I may edit the GUI Dialog to have the Sample Decoding Cashe selection Grayed out since it is broken and non-working till it gets fixed or changed to something else.)
  • Added FMOD 3.50 support to fix FMOD audio modes from last Official release.
  • Cleaned up Borland GUI Graphical mode selection menu. OpenGL Bumpmapping is finally gone since was defunct and virtually removed.
  • Rearranged VC GUI to reduce redundant settings and simply menu items to avoid having people who are new confused by multiple settings. All settings still are fully operational and work.
  • Debugging menu removed since it really wasn't helpful nor useful to the average user.
  • Changed the old Mouse from a .(dot pointer) to an X(Linux X-Mouse) style pointer to make it easier to see. Many thanks to all who worked on the betas and contributed much of their time and efforts. Much still has to be done so thank those responsible for the updates and hard work.
  • Fixed the RTC detection. FINALLY done correctly (lantus, MKendora)
  • neatened up the company table. (MKendora)
  • fixed a mistake in the ROM Info box (MKendora)
  • Added a Calulcated Size field to ROM INfo. (MKendora)
  • Added 3 more companies to the ROM Info table (MKendora)
  • Fixed BS detection (The Dumper)
  • Added a Legend-specific hack to get sound. I remembered it being mentioned in the changelog. (Gary Henderson)
  • Unbroke the Star Ocean special cases (Trigger of Time, MKendora)
  • Company 255 is not Hudson-ZFE detects all Hudson games without it, except a corrupt dump (StatMat, MKendora)
  • fixed a bug in the redone detection for the SPC7110 (CaitSith2)
  • 44Khz sound should be 44.1Kz. Changed, though you'll need to re-set 44.1Khz to make it take effect. Not sure if this affects non-Windows ports. (MKendora)
  • Added 32Khz playback (MKendora)
  • Inproved BS ROM mapping (_Demo_, The Dumper, MKendora)
  • Honkaku Syogi Fuunji Ryuou (J) fixed (force no multitap) (Frank Yang) Also Fixed Super Castles (j). Also fixed a bunch more. This dude e-mailed like 100 bugs to my hosts, some already fixed in Snes9x1.39mk2, but about 7 were clearly multi-tap5.
  • also fixed Dekitate High School. Error was in Japanese (Frank Yang, Tomato)
  • fixed 2 memory leaks (Aaron)
  • Dai Kaiju Monogotari 2 works as a 40 Mbit ROM. (MKendora, The Dumper)
  • Fixed the Flashback bug. Lots of info led to this. (neviksti, MKendora) Thanks neviksti, The Dumper, TRAC, and FatlXception for clarifying the behavior.
  • Fixed Sailor Moon Fuwa Fuwa Panic 2 to work with (neviksti, MKendora) previous fix. It's a total hack, but it should sound just like the old Snes9x did. neviksti strikes again!
  • Dirty hack to make 3 games deinterleave properly: (MKendora) Wizardry 4, Mark Davis, and Honkakuha Igo Gosei(FX) all work as well as the deinterleaved counterparts. (The last is a hacked game, and you should get the non-FX version)
  • Fixed Seima Jyuden Beasts and Blades. Another Multitap, (Frank Yang) but for some reason, the hack requires the C cpu core. Thanks to Tomato for taking a stab at the error message, as well. It was too vague to be of use, he said. I just tried it because it worked on other games.
  • Res Arcana fixed. Another Frank Yang report, another J (Frank Yang, MKendora) error, but I can read kana well enough with a table!
  • Removed a Terranigma specific hack. Not sure, but the (anomie) new behavior might have fixed Tin-Tin in Tibet's colors.
  • Dirty hack to work around a dirty hack. Both Yoshi's (MKendora) Island (E) dumps should work now
  • Added the JumboLoROM memory map, Extends LoROM support (The Dumper, neviksti, MKendora) to 48+ Megabits.
  • added an EXTBG fix, since iirc, TRAC is using it as well (anomie) Does it actually fix anything?
  • Fixed crash in DSP Op06 (The Dumper)
  • Fixed a GUI error on my part (Trigger of Time)
  • Cleaned up some of the SPC7110 detection/size code. (MKendora)
  • Merged in XBox port changes to SPC7110 code (lantus)
  • Added a call to Memory.Deinit when exiting. (lantus, MKendora)
  • Many memory leaks fixed while chatting with lantus (lantus, MKendora)
  • Fixed that stubborn open/close leak (lantus)
  • hacked in Shien's Revenge (anomie)
  • fixed Orge Battle's green lines. (CPU souce for DMA) (anomie)
  • Looks interesting, and might apply to other DMA cases?
  • maybe "fixed" DKC's barrels? by treating $2001 as unmapped. The game worked before with a hack. (MKendora)
  • optimized SPC7110 slightly by removing extra setup work (MKendora)
  • Fixed DBZ 3 (Korean). S. Korea is, in fact, NTSC. (MKendora)
  • Fixed a hard-coded value in the SPC7110 (MKendora)
  • Added a Win port ROM Info dialog (MKendora)
  • some companies aren't in the table I used. If you encounter an Unimplemented company, report it the the Snes9x development forum, with the correct company and the number.
  • SPC7110 support based on Dark Force's docs. (Dark Force, zsKnight,The Dumper, MKendora)
  • Trust me when I say those guys deserve the credit more than me. From what I'm told, Dark Force is the man behind most of the reverse engineering, but they all did a much harder bunch of work than I did following their specs. It's plain and simple that these three are the masterminds behind all SPC7110 support.

Raine V0.36.2 Released
The multi-arcade emulator has been updated once again..Here's the following changes:
  • This is just a bug fix release, but since it comes 2 months after 0.36.1, there are quite a few fixes ! Before all, special thanks go to nlx_doom (from the forum) for his help for this version.
  • The bigest change is the new line scroll functions which fixes the crash in the late stages of strikers 1945, and finally add the missing line scroll effects to the cps1 driver (at least all the street fighter games, punisher and varth use these line scrolls. Maybe some others...). Also nlx_doom added street fighter zero, cps1 changer version to the cps1 driver.
  • LOTS of sound fixes, including a new "enhanced stereo" effect (see the sound options dialog) which works by delaying right and left channels for sound chips having one left channel and one right channel. The explosions in darius 2 are finally fixed, and it also probably fixes a few other sound effects in some other games. And finally some volume and frequency adjustements in a few games.
  • Raine should now support pads/joysticks with more than 12 buttons (untested, because I don't have such a controller, but it should work).
  • Kick off is now playable (megasys1 driver), thanks to some dip switches fixes by nlx_doom.
  • And there are a few misc little changes here and there too, but these are the main changes. The big changes will be for the next release. As usual, you can get this version from our Archive page. (There should be a debian package available next week for linux users).
